The Ilderton and District Lion's Club has been a large part of Lion Skip's life for almost as long as he has been married to his wife Marj. Skip and Marj celebrated thier 50th Wedding Anniversary in August of 2003 and will be helping the Lions Club do the same this coming June, 2004. Lion Skip has been a dedicated member of the club, having served on most of the Club's committee's over the years, chairing many of them along the way. He also worked his way through the chairs of the Executive and served as the club's thirteenth president in 1966/67.

He has fond memories of cooking up hundreds of barbecued chickens as fundraisers for the club's charitable projects and working on the Car Draw committee, one of the Club's most successful ventures. For Lion Skip, Lionism has generated immense satisfaction as a vehicle for supporting his community and many happy times and personal rewards through the personal relationships he shared with fellow Lions.

Lion Skip was employed by 3M Canada for over 35 years and is currently enjoying his retirement. He and Marj have one son and two daughters and are the happy grandparents of one. Skip is also father-in-law to fellow Lion, Tracy Zavitz.

After 50 years of Lionism, Lion Skip continues to participate in Lion's meetings and events regularly and remains a valued member of our club.
