Harvest Food Drive 2021 – Huge Success

Thanks to the tremendous support from the families of Birr, Denfield and Ilderton, this years contributions exceeded those of any previous years. Over 13,400 lbs of non-perishable foods and around $1900 cash was collected.

As you can see, the Ailsa Craig Food Bank needs more room to expand. Fortunately, Mark and his team are getting closer with a ground breaking ceremony that was held on November 15, 2021. This event was well attended by representatives of all levels of government, several service clubs including the Ilderton & District Lions Club and community stakeholders, all potential sources to be tapped for additional fundraising.

Thanks to all the volunteers, young and less young. As you can see, it takes a lot of people to make this event happen.

It was encouraging this year to see around 40 youth join the team to hand out collection bags and to do the collections, under the careful supervision of several Lions and Firefighters. Their energy and enthusiasm to be part of this worthwhile event is encouraging for the future of our great communities.

This event is necessary for the food bank to support the many families, who through no fault of their own, need a little help to support their families, especially at this time of the year but in some cases all year.

Thank you everyone who made this possible.
